I REFER to the letter, 'Why a 40-minute wait for bus?' by Mr Daniel Buay Kwok Ming (Online forum, Dec 20).
Our checks showed that on Dec 16, bus service 178 was delayed due to heavy traffic congestion at Woodlands Checkpoint which caused the buses to arrive late at Boon Lay Interchange.
With regard to Mr Buay's comment on the three Service 178 buses that were parked at the bay, we would like to explain that due to the traffic situation, these buses arrived back at the terminal around the same time. The buses could not be on service immediately as our service leaders needed to take a short break before commencing their next journey.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and seek Mr Buay's understanding on this matter.
