Why has the Govt withdrawn certain health supplements for retired civil servants?
I SALUTE the Government that really cares for the well-being of the elderly citizens of Singapore.

Free medical and dental check-up have been provided in certain constituencies. Also regular combined morning exercises are being held on Sundays.

However, the Government has stopped giving certain health supplements like multi-vitamin tablets viz centrum, garlic capsules, zinc tablets, etc, to the Civil Service Card card holders although the doctors had prescribed them. Most of the supplements are very expensive and some of the government pensioners like me really need them. I can ill-afford them.

The retired civil servants had dedicated the prime part of their lives serving the Government. Some had also sacrificed their lives. I need not elaborate.

I urge the Government to reconsider the matter and extend the benefits to retired civil servants who are especially in their late 60s and 70s.
