Additional charges will be made known upon completion of repairs, says StarHub
WE REFER to the letter by Mr Aguinaldo Harold Queja, 'Customer not informed that $45 charge grew to $120 till day of DVR collection' (Online forum, Dec 17).

Thomson is the manufacturer of StarHub's HubStation device, and Thomson Service Centre is the appointed service centre managing all after-sales technical services for HubStation.

We understand from Thomson that as the technicians may not be able to determine the fault or repair charges immediately over the service counter, customers will be quoted the standard labour charge of $45, and informed that additional repair charges for changing of parts, if needed, will be advised upon completion of the repairs.

We have since contacted Mr Aguinaldo, and would like to apologise to him if there has been a miscommunication between him and the Thomson Service Centre service staff on this matter.
