IN RECENT months, I have on three occasions sent e-mail messages to a company called BizLink Premium Services Pte Ltd, asking that my e-mail address be removed from their mailing list.
My e-mail messages were sent on June 27, July 10 and Aug 23 and addressed to one Teresa Ng.
On Aug 23, I also telephoned the company and spoke with Ms Ng asking that I be removed once and for all from their mailing lists. She assured me that she would do so.
Today I received yet another advertisement e-mail from the company, this time from one Richard Yeo. When I read the fine print at the end of the latest spam mail, it says: 'If you do not wish to be on our mailing list for FLAsia, please reply with the Subject: REMOVE.'
From this statement, it seems to me that the company organises various events and I need to be asked to be removed from each and every one of them. This is very annoying.
What sort of teeth must we add to our anti-spamming laws before companies like BizLink would take anti-spamming seriously?
