Retailers now prefer cash - will Nets act?
RECENTLY, I bought a handphone at an established handphone retailer.

There is an additional charge of 1.5 per cent for payment by Nets.

I was quite taken aback as Nets was very much a preferred mode of payment.

On another occasion, I was enquiring about the prices of some camera lenses at various outlets. I noticed they prefer cash payment now.

I expect that there will be a similar administrative charge if I choose payment by Nets.

How is Nets going to and can it possibly take action against all retailers in Singapore who now prefer to accept cash?

Nets is just shooting itself in the foot and inconveniencing consumers.

Imagine going back to the ATM and withdrawing hundreds to a few thousand dollars for our purchases. We have certainly taken a step back.
