Rigorous measures needed to weed out those with fake certificates
OF LATE, there has been talk about foreigners submitting fake degree/diploma certificates in order to get employment pass/S Pass, et cetera, in Singapore.

It was reported in Tamil Murasu recently that an organised network is operating in Tamil Nadu, India, with state of the art printing machinery and paraphernalia.

It seems the gang could print any certificate from any university of your choice.

The Indian police have arrested some members of the gang who have confessed that their 'customers' secured overseas employment based on the certificates 'issued' by them.

It is undeniable that many would have secured jobs in Singapore based on these fake qualification papers.

Unless rigorous measures are put in place to weed out such fakes, the quality of work will suffer in Singapore with people not properly qualified working in important posts.
