WITH global warming and escalating oil prices, we should be exploring all possible alternative technologies to lessen their environment and economic impact.
Indeed, we should seriously exploit and harness our scientific talents to engage in new, alternative energy.
To date, we have tried and researched solar, biomass, wind, hydro, nuclear technology, et cetera, to generate electricity for utilities and transportation but we haven't seriously looked at hydrogen fuel cell which had been tried and tested in most developed economies like the US, UK, Canada, Germany and Japan.
Fuel cells use the chemical energy of hydrogen to generate electricity in a clean and efficient manner. Sadly, we haven't taken full advantage of their characteristics.
Fortunately, we don't have to reinvent them but just need to educate and promote their greater awareness and make it accessible commercially for fuel cell/electric hybrid cars.
