Big chunk of salary goes to transport for the elderly
VERY often we receive praises from the Government that we are the nation builders, entrepreneurs and Japanese Occupation revolutionists, et cetera.

More recently, the Government promised to look after the elderly.

By 2020, the number of Singaporeans aged 65 and above is expected to be over half a million.

There has been so much thunder and lightning but no rain.

I am 72 years old and am entirely dependant on our public bus and MRT transport to get around.

Right now, seniors like me who get a smaller employer CPF contribution and earn a lower salary, have to pay the full adult fare when travelling on SMRT and SBS Transit outside of the time restriction.

I travel to my part-time job, take my grandsons to school and go marketing as well.

A significant chunk of my salary ends up paying for my transport cost.

I hope that the Government would act without further delay.
