LIVERPOOL tightened their grip on the English Premier League's fourth spot by beating bitter neighbours Everton 1-0 at Anfield yesterday.
A sixth-minute goal from striker Fernando Torres (right), sent the Reds five points clear of their rivals.
The Spaniard also picked up a book- ing just before lea- ving the field in the 88th minute to a standing ovation.
