Suppose you hear a suggestion that a company is going bankrupt. How many times do you need to hear it before you believe it is true? According to global public relations firm Edelman, the figure for most Singaporeans lies somewhere between three and five. They may need to hear it on the radio, spot it on a blog, and see it on a Facebook update, as well as hear it from some friends or colleagues before truly accepting rumour as fact.
