The COI's recommendations
The Government has accepted a slew of recommendations put forth by the Committee of Inquiry (COI). Among them - centralising the command and control of the Whitley Road detention centre under the Internal Security Department and building a new detention facility in Changi Prison for political detainees.

Mas Selamat's escape not an inside job
The Committee of inquiry (COI) has found no evidence of connivance, collusion or help given to Mas Selamat, on the part of any individual. So there will be no criminal charges filed on any persons. But Mr Wong stressed that this does not mean that the officers accountable for the lapse will not be dealt with.

'No witch-hunt': PM Lee
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the last thing Singapore needs is a witch-hunt which'll damage and demoralise the country's intelligence and security agencies.
