Earthquake victims burn joss papers to pray for dead relatives killed in the earthquake in the outskirts of Shifang, one of the hard-hit cities, of Sichuan Province, China. The death toll has already risen to nearly 15,000 and is expected to rise with 25,000 still missing.

The journey to Wenchuan is a long and difficult one, particularly after the quake destroyed the main road to the south-western Chinese county.
