STI lower at midday

SINGAPORE shares were lower at midday on Friday with the benchmark Straits Times Index down 4.33 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 2,594.03.

About 1.7 billion shares were traded until the break.

Gainers beat losers 222 to 219.
