S. Korean airplane makes emergency landing in Japan
TOKYO - A SOUTH Korean airliner bound for New York made an emergency landing on Thursday in northern Japan after apparent technical problems, an airport official said.

The Korean Air plane appeared fine from the outside as it landed in the rain at Chitose airport near the northern city of Sapporo, according to television footage.

The TBS network reported that a light had gone off on the plane warning of the possibility of a fire. -- AFP
