Dr Khor is contributing her thoughts and tips on how to save the earth - while saving money - to www.3mecohome.sg, a community blog launched by the CDC and the National Environment Agency to rally fellow netizens to go green.

'As a working professional and a mother, I too am trying to do my part to reduce energy consumption - by making simple changes in my family's lifestyle and habits,' said Dr Khor.

For example, the Khor family's air-conditioner is set at 25degC and they use a pail of water to wash the car instead of a hose, she writes.

Launched at VivoCity on Sunday, the site will also feature an online survey aimed at identifying the top 10 challenges Singaporeans face in adopting a more eco-friendly lifestyle, explained Dr Khor, who is also the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment Ministry.
