AS THE Bee Gees played in the background, plant lovers Camelia Marican and Mahendran Chakra-pani had the ceremony of their dreams on Thursday.
The couple, both 45, renewed their vows in a air-conditioned 'garden' of lilies and shrubs, witnessed by friends and family including daughter Lakeisha, seven, and son Esen, five.
This garden pavilion, designed by National Parks Board (NParks) assistant director Alan Tan, went on display yesterday and will remain open for viewing over the weekend at Suntec City Convention Centre.
Couples who wish to say 'I do' in an air-conditioned garden can sign up for wedding packages featuring ceremonies held during the Singapore Garden Festival, which will run at Suntec from July 25 to Aug 1.
But on Thursday, the NParks team behind the festival gave their colleague Ms Marican and Mr Mahendran, who is the director of a landscaping company, a day to remember.
Ms Marican, who has been married for 16 years, said: 'Sometimes we work so hard, we forget to say how much we love each other.'
