Hong Kong invites S'pore to bring visual arts shows to the territory

BRING your visual arts exhibitions to Hong Kong. Hong Kong's Home Affairs Secretary Tsang Tak-sing made this suggestion on Monday during his meeting with Singapore?s Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Dr Lee Boon Yang.

Mr Tsang is here on a four-day visit - his first since taking office last June - at the invitation of Dr Lee. Their discussion covered developments in the arts, design and heritage sectors, as well as how the good level of cultural cooperation at both official and private levels could be promoted in existing and new areas.

Mr Tsang, 59, also met Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on Monday and will meet Mayor Matthias Yao to find out more about the Community Development Council and Town Council operations.

Before he returns to Hong Kong on Wednesday, Mr Tsang is expected to visit the National Museum, the School of the Arts, the Singapore Sports School and the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.
