Porsche importer gives $100k to help needy kids
By Christopher Tan
PORSCHE importer Kar-sono Kwee, 60, on Friday donated $100,000 to help two children's causes.

At a ceremony at the Padang to unveil the new car for the Porsche Carrera Cup season, an F1 support race that debuts here in September, the entrepreneur presented a $50,000 cheque, which goes to The Straits Times (ST) Pocket Money Fund and Child Aid.

He handed another cheque, also for $50,000, to the Mainly I Love Kids (Milk) Fund.

The cheques were received by ST Pocket Money Fund chairman Peter Khoo and Milk Fund president Sheryn Mah.

Mr Kwee, who has been the lone authorised Porsche agent here for 22 years, has donated over $1 million to various causes, with the bulk of it given in the last five years - when car sales took off.
