PARIS - AIR France will raise its fuel surcharge on Thursday byas much as 14 euros (S$29.9) because of higher oil prices, bringing the extra fee on a one-way long-haul ticket to 135 euros.
The airline said on Tuesday it is boosting the fee on domestic flights by 2 euros, which spokeswoman Brigitte Barrand said brings the total fuel-linked extra charge to 21 euros.
Medium-haul flights will cost an extra 4 euros and the cost for long-haul flights will rise between 10 euros and 14 euros, the airline said.
The company said the new surcharge will be withdrawn when the oil price stabilises below US$125 (S$170.5) a barrel.
A barrel of light, sweet crude for August delivery traded down US$5.79 on the New York Mercantile Exchange Tuesday at $135.58. -- AP
