The thefts took place between 8.30 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday. Three of the victims were women and the other a man in his early 50s.

In the first incident on Saturday, a woman in her late 30s, said she was praying when she felt her gold long chain being pulled. When she checked, she found her necklace, worth about $1800, was missing.

The other three cases happened on Sunday.

A woman, in her mid 60s, reported to police that after praying at the temple, she discovered her wallet, containing her identity card, ATM cards and cash amounting to about $53 missing when she left the temple at about 9 am.

Three hours later, another woman devotee, in her late 60s, also discovered her gold chain valued at about $1200 and wallet missing when she left the temple.

Shortly after, at 12.30pm, a male devotee, who was queuing to buy drinks at the entrance of the temple, felt someone pinching his right front pocket. On checking, he found his wallet which contained his identity card, ATM cards and cash of about $5, missing.

CCTV was not installed in the temple and the management of the temple had been informed.
