4 charged with Tuas dormitory murder

FOUR Malaysian men were charged on Monday with the murder of 23-year-old cleaner Sangga Anak Runggah last week.

No plea was taken from Kuwee Ngu Lee Sing, 20, Achai Anak Barat, 24, Jusni Anak Othman, 27 and Bajing Anak Giri, 31, who were ordered to be remanded for a week for further investigations.

They are accused of causing the death of Mr Sangga, who was from Sarawak, between 10.24pm on Thursday and 10.30am the next day.

Mr Sangga?s body was found inside a steel storage room that doubles up as a rest room at a building at 35 Tech Park Crescent in Tuas.

He was wearing only black underwear and had stab wounds on his chest and arms.

The five-storey building, which once housed as many as 500 foreign workers, has been sold and residents have to leave by the end of this month.

The penalty for those convicted of murder is death by hanging.
