'Whoever took our little girl, please return her to us because she is asthmatic,' pleaded her father, wireman Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain, 29, on Thursday.
'Every time she starts wheezing and has difficulty breathing, she'll need her medication. Even eating ice-cream can cause her to start wheezing. She's so young, she's only turning five on Jan 30. She doesn't know anything.'
Sharlinie's parents Mohd Nashar and Suraya Ahmad, 28, turned up for a press conference at the Petaling Jaya district police station with their two older daughters Nurul Amirah, 11, and Sharliena, eight.
The press conference was jointly held by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.
Madam Suray, asked to describe her youngest child, said that 'Nini' was an active and cheerful girl, despite her illness, reported The Star.
'She's had asthma since she was born. Please don't hurt my little girl,' she said.
At 11am on Wednesday, Sharlinie and her sister Sharliena had gone to a playground about 200m from their double-storey link house in Taman Medan to play before she went missing.
