JIANGYOU (China) - CHINA on Sunday declared three days of mourning and suspended the Olympic torch relay nearly a week after a massive quake struck the country's southwest, as the death toll continued to mount. The announcements came after a powerful aftershock rattled devastated Sichuan province, killing at least three people and hampering China's efforts to help nearly five million homeless facing the threats of disease and floods.

Mas Selamat: Here's how he escaped
Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng unveiled further details to the daring escape of JI fugitive Mas Selamat Kastari in Parliament on Monday when he released the Executive Summary of the Committee of Inquiry's report. The COI's recommendations
The Government has accepted a slew of recommendations put forth by the Committee of Inquiry (COI). Among them - centralising the command and control of the Whitley Road detention centre under the Internal Security Department and building a new detention facility in Changi Prison for political detainees.
