THE Straits Times wants to give you a brand new set of wheels in celebration of its 163rd anniversary this year.

Readers who pick up a copy of the new-look Straits Times from Friday stand a chance to drive away in a spanking new Volkswagen Touran Sport 1.4 TSI, worth $79,480, without certificate of entitlement, insurance and road tax.

To be in the running to win the seven-seater family sports car, readers have to solve a word puzzle which will contain missing letters.

Once completed, the puzzle will reveal the mystery location where the car is on display.

Readers have to hunt for the missing letter tiles in The Straits Times from Friday to Aug 15.

One letter will be revealed each day in The Straits Times in 'A Part of My Life' advertisements which will also carry a picture of the car.

Readers have to cut out all the eight letter tiles and piece them together on a giant word puzzle entry form that will be published in The Straits Times on Friday and Aug 15 and 16.

For more clues on the location, readers can also go to the Straits Times website (www.straitstimes.com) or ST RazorTV (www.razor.tv) and click on the image of the car.

Once you complete your forms, head on down to the location on Aug 16 between 2pm and 4pm and drop your entries into a lucky draw box. Participants have to be present for the live lucky draw that will be conducted at 6pm that day.

Only correct entries will be eligible for the draw.

Straits Times editor Han Fook Kwang said: 'We hope through this contest to make reading The Straits Times fun and rewarding. It's really our way of thanking our readers who have given us tremendous support over the last 163 years.'

Dr Olaf Duebel, managing director of Volkswagen Group Singapore, which gave away a Volkswagen Jetta at last year's celebrations, said: 'The Volkswagen brand is very much a part of people's lives. I see this partnership with The Straits Times as an extension of that same philosophy: Both brands have longevity and a successful history in Singapore.

'The privilege is ours, that Volkswagen will be a part of the event again this year.'
