Tags for the reminder!

Dog tags have become the latest weapon in the anti-drink driving effort.

'Ambassadors' from one of the biggest wine and spirit importers here, Pernod Ricard Singapore, have been making the rounds at bars across the island, giving out tags with catchy messages like 'Drink driving is not thinking after drinking'.

Mr Franck Lapeyre, managing director of Pernod Ricard Singapore - which brings in brands such as Chivas Regal whisky, The Glenlivet Scotch and Beefeater gin - said people welcome the tags.

They are designed to remind drivers of the dangers of getting behind the wheel after the partying ends.

Bar-goers have adopted them as a symbol that they believe in the anti-drink driving message, he said.

About 8,000 of the tags have been handed out. Ambassadors will spend the next two months distributing them.
