Girls have voted the Manchester United striker as the world's ugliest footballer.

Of women polled by www.thepeoplesclub.com, 33 per cent picked the 22-year-old England star, who has often been compared to movie ogre Shrek.

He beat Barcelona's Brazilian striker Ronaldinho and Manchester United teammate, the Argentinian Carlos Tevez.

But a fifth of girls said they would go out with an ugly footballer just for their money, reported The Sun.
