Singapore's first bilingual freesheet - my paper - turned out to be a hot read when it made its debut yesterday.
Some 300,000 copies were given out at MRT stations, office buildings and coffee franchises islandwide. Some copies were delivered to homes as well.
Originally a Chinese freesheet, my paper was relaunched to give readers news in both English and Chinese, but which are distinct and not mere translations.
At Raffles Place MRT station yesterday morning, the first 4,000 readers also received coffee and tau sar piah (bean paste biscuits).
