Lucky escape for driver
ST PHOTO: NG SOR LUAN
Metal rods rained down on this car yesterday, but the driver had a lucky escape.

Reader Glenn Soh saw him walk out of the wrecked Hyundai with only minor cuts on his fingers.

The rods had fallen from the scaffolding of the former Selegie Complex building in Selegie Road at about 12.30 pm yesterday.

Construction workers were working there at the time.

Mr Soh, 34, an architect, was working in his Selegie Court office when he heard a loud crash. He said: 'Cars were swerving to avoid the debris. It was quite scary.'

The police are looking into the matter.
