A MALAYSIAN woman who had sex with a house guest says she mistakenly thought the man was her husband and has filed a rape complaint in Cukai, Terengganu, police said yesterday.
The 40-year-old housewife said her husband was away at work when she went to bed early on Friday morning after making preparations for Hari Raya.
An hour later, she claimed a man who she thought was her husband climbed into the bed and they had sex although she did not see his face.
She realised her mistake only when her husband, 34, returned from work and asked her about the man, who is his colleague and whom he had seen leaving the room.
Police have arrested the 29-year-old labourer, who has been staying with them for the past two months.
But they are suspicious.
'It's strange. A woman not knowing if it's her husband or not,' said Mr K. Manoharan, deputy criminal investigation chief in Terengganu.
Police had questioned the guest and released him on bail, he said.
