Bush treated for tick rash last year
US PRESIDENT George W. Bush was treated for Lyme disease - a rash caused by tick bites - last August. The treatment was disclosed only when the White House on Wednesday made public all the results of the President's annual physical exam.

Mr Bush was treated for what his doctors described as 'early, localised Lyme disease', which can cause arthritis and other problems. The rash has not recurred since and White House spokesman Scott Stanzel suggested that Mr Bush could have been bitten while he was out biking.

The doctors have pronounced Mr Bush healthy overall: 'The President remains in excellent health and is fit for duty.'
