A wedding fit for a princess

AMID the booming of cannons, the daughter of Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah, 31, married in a lavish traditional ceremony on Sunday.

She wed Pengiran Khairul Khalil Pengiran Syed Haji Jaafari, 32, a civil servant and noble, at the Nurul Iman Palace. About 2,000 guests witnessed the ceremony.

Yesterday, the Sultan hosted a banquet for the newlyweds and guests, including Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Mrs Goh.
