ROGER Federer will retain his No 1 spot this week. He has held that position since February 2004.
But Rafael Nadal is only 300 points behind, with a chance to claim the top spot in Cincinnati after this week.
For that to happen, Nadal would have to win, and Federer would have to lose before the semi-finals.
Nadal's titles
30 ATP wins. At 22, he is the third-youngest after Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors to achieve that feat
12 Masters trophies (one more than Pete Sampras). Andre Agassi leads with 17 and Federer has 14.
7 titles this year (best on the ATP)
2 Grand Slams this year (French Open, Wimbledon)
