Details: A group staged an illegal assembly outside Parliament House against rising prices despite the police rejecting their application because of security concerns.
The group later began a march but were stopped at the Funan DigitaLife Mall. Police ordered them to disperse and surrender their placards. They refused and a stand-off and a scuffle ensued. Several people were arrested, including SDP member Chee Siok Chin, whom police said tried to bite a female officer.
Of those in the group, SDP supporter Yap Keng Ho had already been charged on March 17 for his involvement, while the 18 others were charged yesterday.

Details: Six SDP members and supporters staged a march to mark a similar but failed march in 2006.
They walked from Hong Lim Park to Parliament House, and then to the Istana. The group was warned earlier by the police, outside Funan DigitaLife Mall, to stop. But they did not. Five were charged yesterday.
The charge:
