The oldest winner, Frederick Humphreys, was 42 when he helped Britain win gold in the contest in 1920.
Unfortunately for him, the tug-of-war contest was discontinued as an Olympic event after that.
The tug-of-war winners were the first team to pull their opponents six feet (1.83m).
But, if neither succeeded in doing so in five minutes, the team that had pulled the furthest was pronounced the winner, reported the BBC.
