2006 to 2008: Norwegian police seize about 100 photos showing a man engaging in sex acts with young Asian boys. The hunt for the paedophile begins, but after two years, Interpol has no success.
THIS WEEK
Tuesday, May 6: Interpol takes the unusual step of going worldwide with an appeal to track down the man. It releases a set of six photographs of a middle-aged, white-haired Caucasian and asks for help from anyone who might recognise him.
Wednesday, May 7: Interpol's website attracts 250,000 visitors, 10 times more than usual. It also receives 460 leads. Three people in the United States say the man is an actor who plays Santa Claus.
Thursday, May 8: Corliss is arrested.
