THOSE looking to do mesotherapy and other controversial procedures at some of the popular aesthetic clinics here may have to look harder elsewhere.
Dr Georgia Lee (below), who runs TLC Lifestyle Practice in Holland Village, no longer offers these treatments that were frowned upon by the Health Ministry (MOH) recently.
A clinic assistant said TLC has stopped doing procedures such as mesotherapy, carboxytherapy, growth hormone applications and skin-whitening injections 'until further guidelines are out'.
But it is business as usual for its other popular procedures such as Botox, intense pulsed light and microdermabrasion.
Dr Lee, 39, has often been regarded as the poster girl of aesthetic doctors here. The general practitioner set up her aesthetic clinic in 1999 and has since amassed a clientele ranging from NSmen to celebrities.
She has declined to comment on the matter.
Another popular aesthetic practice, The Sloane Clinic in Raffles Place and Holland Village, also said it has stopped procedures such as mesotherapy and carboxytherapy until further notice.
At The Medspa in Camden Medical Centre, doctors have also stopped performing mesotherapy injections since last week, although endermologie is still available at the company's spa section. This is a non-invasive deep-tissue massage done with a machine to supposedly reduce cellulite.
