THE 102-death tragedy on New Year's Day last year was the worst of a series of mishaps to hit the Indonesian budget airline Adam Air.
In 2006, one of its planes was lost for several hours, eventually landing many kilometres from its intended destination.
Last year, barely a month after the Jan 1 tragedy, an aircraft suffered a cracked fuselage during a hard landing at Surabaya airport.
In the most recent mishap, a jet skidded off the runway at Batam airport earlier this month.
The Indonesian government stopped all Adam Air flights last week - including to Singapore - after revoking its operating certificate. It was given three months to shape up, or face permanent grounding.
