Drive-home valet service
At least six clubs here offer inebriated drivers the option to be driven home by a valet. The service costs up to $60.
Since the police's 'ring-fencing' kicked in two weeks ago, St James Power Station and Zouk have seen demand for this service double to about 40 valet requests on weekends.
The service is free at Zouk, though customers are expected to tip the valet so he can catch a cab back. St James' service costs $60.
Clubs also arrange a cab ride home for patrons too sloshed to drive.
Zouk even gets a cab to drive up to its entrance to save its drunk patrons a walk to the main road.
Some clubs here offer free overnight parking if patrons choose to leave their cars behind and go home by taxi.
St James provides free parking between 6am and noon; parking at Zouk is free.
Last month, St James tied up with Moet Hennessy Diageo, Asia Pacific Breweries and ComfortDelGro to give patrons up to $15 in taxi vouchers with their purchases of labels such as Johnnie Walker whisky and Moet & Chandon champagne.
