UNDERGRADUATE Mavis Chan Wai Sum is such a big fan of the Mosaic Music Festival that she started a Facebook group for fellow fans last year.
Almost 300 users of the social networking website have joined the group.
'I started it so that fans can interact and get updates of the festival's programmes,' says the 19-year-old Singapore Management University (SMU) student.
She has been an avid follower of the festival since it started in 2005.
'In Singapore, Mosaic is the only festival that brings in all the quality foreign acts that I'm interested in seeing,' she explains.
'Somehow, it is always able to cater to my taste and I put it down to the good programming. Unlike other festivals, Mosaic plays to the knowing crowd who prefers non-mainstream music.'
This year, she's looking forward to performances by indie and electro acts Broken Social Scene, The Bird & The Bee, Mum and Fujiya & Miyagi.
Being a student has its perks - she makes full use of the student discounts available on tickets. So far, she has spent a little under $200 on this year's line-ups.
Asked if there's anything about the festival that she'd like to see change, the first-year undergraduate says simply: 'Make it even bigger and better. Can't go wrong with that.'
