PASSENGERS at these three stations will see crowding ease from Monday when extra trips are added during the morning peak hour:

Kallang (East-West Line)

The busiest station on the East-West line now has 1,400 passengers on each of the 24 westbound trains that pass through it between 8am and 9am. With two extra trips added, waiting time will be go down from 2.5 to 2.3 minutes.

Toa Payoh (North-South Line)

An extra trip through the station during morning rush hour will bring the total to 29 trips. For the 1,300 south-bound passengers on each train, waiting times will stay the same at about two minutes, but the trains will be less crowded.

Boon Keng (North-East Line)

The busiest station of this line has some 1,300 passengers boarding each south-bound train. An extra trip during morning peak hour will cut waiting times from four to three minutes.
