Pork: Prices have gone up 74.6 per cent this June, compared to June last year, according to official figures.
At a wholesale market in east Beijing, the price is now 20.05 yuan per kg, compared to 12 yuan per kg in May.
Eggs: Prices are up 27.9 per cent this June, compared to June last year.
At a small Beijing supermarket, eggs now cost 7.6 yuan per kg. The price was 6.2 yuan per kg in March.
Instant noodles: Prices are up 20 to 40 per cent.
According to a noodle retailers goup, the price is now 1.7 yuan per packet, compared to 1.5 yuan per packet in June.
The price of agricultural products rose 4.9 per cent between May and June, according to official statistics.
Beijing announced a set of measures last week to cushion the price hikes:
A total of 1.81 billion yuan in subsidies to pig farmers and low-income residents.
Orders for local governments to investigate price increases of basic food items and act against unfair hikes.
Beijing is also mulling over the drastic move of stabilising pork prices by releasing its contingency stash of live pigs.
