IDA probing SingTel 3G service disruptions
Problems that caused outages in past two days fully resolved, says telco
Singtel mobile customers were hit by two service disruptions in two days, prompting an investigation by the authorities here.
The largest telco here said its customers were 'impacted by two unrelated and intermittent incidents' on Tuesday and on Wednesday, although they have since been fully resolved.
SingTel, which has a total mobile customer base of about 3.5 million, said it is 'hard to ascertain the exact number of customers impacted' because of the 'intermittent nature' of the incidents which affected only some parts of the island.
In a statement on Wednesday, a spokesman said the first problem lasted more than four hours and customers in some northern and western areas had difficulty using 3G mobile services, such as data, voice and messaging.
