'PA grassroots adviser works with the Govt': PM Lee
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Saturday defended the practice of appointing candidates from the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) as grassroots advisers for local People's Association (PA) organisations.
Like ministries, the PA's grassroots organisations are part of the Government, said Mr Lee, who is the chairman of PA.
They therefore require guidance from 'somebody who is working on behalf of the Government'.
