Aerospace education takes flight at Republic Polytechnic
Six students from the aerospace engineering programme at Republic Polytechnic got the chance to assemble a fully functional aeroplane on Tuesday.
The five-year-old Jabiru J 160, which the poly bought for an undisclosed sum from a private owner in Kuala Lumpur, will provide students in aerospace courses with a hands-on learning experience.
The plane, which is about 8.2m wide and 6m in length, arrived at around noon on Tuesday on a lorry with its wings detached.
The six students spent three hours subsequently putting the plane back into running order.
