Some Ion stores close after waste-water leak

A section of stores on the first and second levels of Ion Orchard shopping mall was closed off on Sunday after a waste-water leak.

In particular, luxury brands Dior and Louis Vuitton had to temporarily close their stores in the mall.

It is understood that they will resume business on Monday.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, a spokesman for the mall said a choked section of the water discharge system in the mall caused a backflow of water. The affected sections were immediately cordoned off after the discovery between 8am and 9am, and cleaners were activated to deal with the overflow of foul-smelling waste water.
