S'porean student in coma in US

A 17-YEAR-OLD Singaporean is in coma at a hospital in Florida, United States, following an accident when he lost control of his car.

Alton Yung was driving to school when he lost control of his car and crashed into a row of trees at 7.30am (8pm Singapore time) on March 3, according to Shin Min Daily News on Tuesday.

He suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

He has been unconscious since the accident and remained warded in intensive care.

Shin Min said he is studying in a high school in Sarasota and has been accepted into the University of Florida.

His mother is Singaporean and his step-father is Caucasian. He has six other siblings.
