BERITA Harian, a Malay daily published by the Singapore Press Holdings' Malay daily, on Monday launched two weekly supplements for primary and secondary school students.

They are Gen G (short for Generasi Geligaor Intelligent Generation) for primary school students and i3 (pronounced as i-Cube, an acronym for Inspirasi, Innovasi & Idea or Inspiration, Innovation & Idea) for secondary school students.

The launch was held at SPH News Centre in Toa Payoh North in conjunction with 'Inspirasi Geliga', Berita Harian's annual sharing session on preparation for the PSLE and GCE 'O' level examinations. The event was graced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education and Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli.

The compact pull-outs are designed to stimulate students' learning through engaging and interactive content. Gen G features interesting content suitable for primary school students, including regular columns on general knowledge, topical science facts, and interesting profiles such as a zookeeper's job at the Night Safari.

i3 is targeted at secondary students and offers news articles, features on teen-centric issues such as teenage pregnancy and delinquency, interesting happenings in schools, and other exciting reads.

The two-in-one supplement also carries teaching aids for the classrooms. The centre-spread inside each issue features weekly highlights of major news around the world to keep students up-to-date with current affairs. Students are also encouraged to submit their own creative works, such as essay compositions, short stories and poetry. They stand a chance to win book vouchers if their works are published.
