Bali attacks mastermind made bombs with home tools
JAKARTA (AFP) - An alleged mastermind of the 2002 Bali bombings that killed more than 200 people allegedly used simple household tools to assemble bombs, a prosecutor said on Saturday.
Umar Patek, 45, was extradited to Indonesia after his arrest last year in the town where Osama bin Laden was subsequently killed by United States special forces. He will stand trial on Monday.
'That's part of things which will be proven later in the court. We will bring into the court everything he used to make the bombs, including the rice ladle,' prosecutor Bambang Suharyadi told AFP.
A copy of his indictment obtained by AFP also said Patek and his accomplice used filing cabinets as bomb containers.
