KUALA LUMPUR- A MALAYSIAN businessman and his family of five were burnt beyond recognition when his car exploded in flames after ploughing into a stationary trailer early yesterday morning.

Mr Suhaimi Ghazali, 41, his wife Fadhillah Isnin, 31, and their four young children were returning to Malacca after holidaying in Ipoh. The children were aged between two and 10.

Mr Suhaimi apparently lost control of his new BMW near the Senawang Toll Plaza on the North-South Expressway at about 1.30am.

The car slammed into a goods trailer, which had broken down and was parked in the emergency lane.

The bodies were all so badly burnt that they were identified only after a post-mortem was carried out at a Seremban hospital.

Mr Rashid Razali, 38, who lives about 150m from the highway, told Bernama news agency that he was washing his car when he heard a loud explosion.
