YOU know him as a celebrity photographer. Now meet Russel Wong, landscape photographer.

Visitors to his new solo show, which opened on Thursday, should not expect the sort of images he is famous for, such as his take on Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai or Chinese-American actress Joan Chen.

What you see are 41 landscapes that include bamboo forests in Kyoto, early morning views of the Chinese countryside and evocative images of Cambodia's temples in Siem Reap.

This different side to Wong's craft can be seen in the way he captures the much-photographed temples using a subtle play of light. Other works in the show, which are priced between $1,750 and $24,000, nature.

Wong, 47, says: 'I wanted to capture the Asian landscape through photography, just the way a painter captures it in a Chinese painting.'
